Public bug reported:
Using the nvidia driver: After init gets to the point of starting X, the
screen will go directly into standby (no nvidia splash screen anymore).
The keyboard does not operate at all. I can not switch virtual
terminals.
Using the nv driver: After init gets to the point of starting X, the
screen will show the gdm login screen (with green and purple artificts
all around), the mouse moves, but is not operable. The keyboard does not
operate at all. I can not switch virtual terminals.
Using the vesa driver: After init gets to the point of starting X, the
screen will go into standby mode. I am able to switch to virtual
terminals, but F6 always sends the screen into standby.
Same symptoms with one monitor connected, to either of the video ports,
or both connected at the same time.
My video card info: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia
