It appears that the above driver/solution does print to the printer in color,
just not from the "print test page" of the printer menu. It prints color from
firefox and OO2. Here are the instructions from the INSTALL file after a
download.
UBUNTU NOTES
------------
Install build-essential FIRST:
$ sudo apt-get install build-essential
$ wget -O foo2zjs.tar.gz http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/foo2zjs.tar.gz
$ tar zxf foo2zjs.tar.gz
$ cd foo2zjs
$ sudo make uninstall
$ make
$ ./getweb 1020
OR other printer ********here I did a ./getweb 2530*********
$ sudo make install install-hotplug cups
$ sudo gnome-cups-manager
[configure ColorMode = Color if a color printer] <-- This was already
set properly when i selected color.
$ sudo make cups
Ubuntu has a bug in gnome-cups-manager with Color, so you must
restart cups. No other distro has this bug.
Hope this helps someone else looking for how to print to this printer.
