This is still a problem in saucy. With multiple partitions the user will want to mount other partitions sometimes using a file manager. I have four 20G partitions which are hard to identify, so I gave them all names. This helps me in two way, It is easier to select which one I want and it is easier to find from the command line as it is mounted as /media/$USER/label/ rather than the very painful /media/$USER/$UUID/.
What should happen: - ubiquity should save the label for the partition. - ubiquity should ask the user if they want to keep it or modify it. - ubiquity should then label the partition as requested. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119584 Title: Installing Ubuntu removes both UUID and LABEL from partition To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/119584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
