Hello,
I realised, that the dlocatedb is not readable by users. Try
$ sudo -i
# rm /var/lib/dlocate/*
# update-dlocatedb
# ls -l /var/lib/dlocate/
total 68252
-rw-r----- 1 root root 69748897 Aug 30 10:34 dlocatedb
-rw-r----- 1 root root 113352 Aug 30 10:34 dlocatedb.stamps
Add user read access please.
