Hi Christopher I have updated the bios as requested, unfortunately the problem still persists.
The output of your terminal command is as follows: allan@allan-desktop:~$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date [sudo] password for allan: F8 03/27/2012 I first booted the updated kernel (3.5.0-39), but the USB keyboard and mouse still did not respond. Then I rebooted back to the previous version (3.5.0-37), and everything was working. I have attached the kern.log which shows both cases.
