The bug is not with VLC though., and it may not even be a bug, but an
issue on your end with your system's configuration.
The report will remain 'Incomplete' until you provide the requested
audio information. Please run the alsa info script I linked to in my
last comment and provide a link to your information.
You can also check what's using your sound devices with lsof command:
lsof /dev/snd/*
** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
