I have the same problem. I did not install anything manually, have latest LOffice 4.1.1.2 and gstreamer0.10-plugins-base gstreamer0.10 -plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
I can reproduce it with a new presentation after I insert any movie (avi/mpg/mov/mp4). The terminal throws: ... On loading it takes an _age_ around 30s to render each page and is frozen while it waits. - It won't play an embedded movies. + It won't play an embedded movies. Testing shows that a presentation without movies in it behaves just fine - adding a movie to creates the same problem as above. The odd thing is that will it is so slow and is dead between pages it is not using any CPU as measured by top.
