** Summary changed:

- Input devices gone in xmir after forcefully killing unity-system-compositor,
even after reboot
+ Input devices unusable if booting with two monitors attached

** Description changed:

  Steps:

- 1. Run unity-system-compositor normally
- 2. Get the great idea of killall unity-system-compositor
- 3. Notice there's no recovery (a separate feature request in bug #1220656),
so forcefully reboot the computer
- 4. Lightdm starts, but keyboard typing doesn't work and moving the mouse does
not move the pointer.
+ 1. Have both laptop's internal screen on and external screen attached during
bootup
+ 2. Try to login

- Xorg continues to work as usual, if one removes the unity-system-
- compositor, and switching to VT1 when running Mir has keyboard working.
- When typing in VT1, it gets written in lightdm as well. This happened
- for me last week, and I've tried to install unity-system-compositor back
- today but I'm still getting into the same situation.
+ Keyboard and mouse do not work if external monitor is connected during
+ the bootup. A workaround is to detach the monitor before turning on the
+ computer, and only attaching it after logging in.

- The steps are not "reproduce" steps, but suggested steps to try. It
- requires of course a situation that you have an empty desktop so can
- reboot the computer forcefully.
+ Switching to VT1 when running Mir has keyboard working. When typing in
+ VT1, it gets written in lightdm as well.

- If you can't reproduce this, mark the bug as Incomplete and I will
- continue living with it until I find some reason for the problem.
+ This didn't happen when Mir had the default mirroring mode, but started
+ happening when the multi-monitor support landed.
