Public bug reported: Sound is not working on the X61s as the needed alsa drivers is not yet available.
Taken from here: http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/hosted/lenovo-ibm- x61s.html "Sound, as mentioned, does not work out of the box. It is actually to blame on the AD1984 codec chip that is not yet fully suported. I downloaded the latest (11-7-2007) HG version of the alsa-driver package, did a "./configure", "make" and "make install-modules" (actually I also made a .deb package here a "dpkg -i -force-all <packagename>" is needed as you overwrite the alsa modules that came with the kernel!). With this new driver, sound just works." ** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gutsy: Sound not working on X61s https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130923 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
