Public bug reported:

It seems that many Kubuntu-Desktop programs have problems with Audio
CDs, especially K3b. Audio CDs in Ubuntu-Desktop programs seem to work
perfectally until a Kubuntu-Desktop program is run, especially K3b.

I should note that I'm using an external optical drive: RDED-12001. If I
open K3b or change folders in Dolphin too fast then the drive stops
responding. I can't even eject. This doesn't seem to be an issue with
"Files" or Rhythmbox unless KDE already has the drive locked up. I seem
to be able to get some responsiveness with a replug but I don't think
the drive itself is the issue.

I'm also using a custom kernel 3.10.10 to get audio working over HDMI on
Haswell. I think I complied from this commit:
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-
stable.git/commit/?id=8bf3379a74bc9132751bfa685bad2da318fd59d7. I copied
the ubuntu kernel config and used the defaults for anything new when
compiling.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
