Public bug reported:

This crash has only happened three times since January, and it doesn't
seem to have a common cause.

Seemingly randomly, Kubuntu will crash. I'm assuming it's the X server,
because when this happens, all X functions cease. The video goes blank
(my monitor enters power saving mode), the audio stops (if I'm listening
to something, it will keep repeating the last second played), the
keyboard stops functioning (I can't even enter a TTY terminal, because
absolutely no commands are recognized), and I assume my mouse stops
functioning as well (with no video, I can't be sure, but I'm assuming
so). It's just a complete loss of any input or output that is typically
governed by the X server.

As I said, it seems to be random. It happened on Edgy and Feisty (both
upgrades from previous versions, original installation was Dapper). I
have the proprietary nVidia graphics driver installed, if that has
anything to do with it.

My system has...

Athlon 64 3500+ (running 32-bit Kubuntu)
nVidia GeForce 7600 GS
1 Gig RAM

Looking in the logs, I also noticed "APIC Error on CPU0: 40(40)", but
every time I search for that, it seems to have multiple causes so I
don't know if that has anything to do with this, either. I'm more than
willing to provide any extra information if necessary.
