Public bug reported:
Listed under "I don't know" due to the many suspected causes of Ubuntu
installer failing to install grub to an existing EFI partition at install.
This is due to Ubuntu installation media failing to boot using EFI mode and
have to boot using BIOS mode to get Ubuntu installer running. Having to rely on
the work around of booting in BIOS mode for installation and using Boot-Repair
to try and fix EFI mode boot of Ubuntu. One suspect contributing to this is
hardcoding of firmware however have just booted using EFI mode after running
Boot-Repair making sure the "Rename EFI entries" is NOT selected.
Personally suspect grub install issues are an accumalation of several
defficiencies in Ubuntu installer rather than being a grub bug.
Have attached BIS for consideration.
Due to observing Boot-Repair being run at least two thiousand times in less
than two hours today may be indicative there is indeed many deficciencies in
Ubuntu installer.
