e2fsprogs is a dependency of ubuntu-minimal (not to mention Essential:
yes because it also happens to ship the fsck wrapper, so there *is* a
reason it has a higher status than e.g. reiserfsprogs); it doesn't need
to be a dependency of ubuntu-desktop as well.
