I have a very good news :-) Even though after first boot with new BIOS web cam didn't work, on subsequent boot it started to work.
It even works after resume from standby. I didn't believe it could help, as BIOS upgrade description doesn't mention anything about web cam. thank you for your help, and hopefully it would also help other Toshiba A305 users.
