Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic
I'm using Feisty Fawn (7.04) release of Ubuntu on a Toshiba 5200 laptop
with kernel the 2.6.20-16-generic kernel.
I have an Atheros AR5211 which seems to be recognized (it shows up in
lspci -vvnn) and finds networks but will not connect. I have tried
using "roaming" and "manual" modes in the network manager and even using
wlanconfig but it doesn't seem to work. It worked in Dapper Drake
(6.06) though I had to restart every time I wanted to change my wireless
network.
This may be related to bug #96754, though different hardware. I'm not
sure if the problem is with the restricted drivers, network manager or
kernel, but it seemed similar to #96754 and other bugs marked as kernel
bugs. Any help would be appreciated,
-Doug
