Hi Christopher, I have at last updated the BIOS on my Asus Eee 901 and the error message I was getting has gone. However, the computer is slow to react and the shut down dialogue (when it comes up first after a delay) is greyed out. It eventually goes solid but is slow to react. Also intermittently other dialogues go grey. The machine is now about 5 years old and perhaps I should replace it. Currently it uses a compact flash adapter and compact flash hard disk as the PC is a Linux version and the 4 Gig hard drive was becoming a limiting problem.
