While the symptoms are different, the fact that they all started around the same time leads me to think that a fix for one should fix the others, or while tackling one, the solution to the others will become clear. The next sensible step, while I take a look at the error logs from cups, would be to see if the issue is caused by the fact that you are printing PDFs. Sometimes with PDF files, the file is incorrectly handled by cups on the way to the printer, leading to the symptoms that you described. So essentially the next step is to print things that aren't PDF files, and let us know how that goes, still capturing error logs, in the event that it still occurs. I'll take a detailed look at the logs, and we'll move on from there.
