I don't agree that this bug report is a duplicate of #11854417. For
one, I do NOT update ubuntu software packages from "RANDOM" sources. I
use the official repositories. How can the entire sound support in
Ubuntu just disappear and the operating system: 1) not notice, and 2)
not recommend (or automatically install) the packages necessay to
restore it?
