Hi Brian, I was able to get this working, by following the instructions on the following bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/658865
Essentially all I needed to do was the following: sudo rm /usr/lib/ubiquity/apt-setup/generators/40cdrom And it got past the point of the installation that kept crashing. I wasn't actually installing via a CD, I was using a usb live-cd created in linux mint using unetbootin. Feel free to close this if you would like (or do i need to? This is the first time i've submitted a bug) :) Cheers, Alistair. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1232669 Title: 13.10 ubuntu gnome install failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1232669/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
