Hi,

I also forgot to mention it's a PPTP connection and I create it using
the VPN connection manager accessible through the NM applet like this:

Left click on the NM applet icon
Select VPN Connections > Configure VPN...
In the VPN Connections window I click the Add button

In the Create VPN Connection wizard:
Select PPTP client
Fill in Connection name, Gateway, Username
Uncheck "Use MPPC compression" and "Require MPPE encryption" as I don't want to
use these

When the new connection is created, in the VPN Connections window:
Select the newly created connection and click Edit
The "Use MPPC compression" and "Require MPPE encryption" options will be
selected, if I uncheck them once again and save the settings, they are still
selected
