The change to support HURD and kFreeBSD is the only thing that changes
in -10.  The patch only involves a tweak to the configure script so it
will proceed on a non-Linux architecture and doesn't change the Makefile
or source code in any way.  It is not necessary for Ubuntu to have this
change, but it won't break anything either.

-9 delivers the goodies though, developers will be quite keen to have
the doc package
