After some search on the internet, I found the following solution that fixed the problem for me.
I changed the pdftops renderer on the commandline via: sudo lpadmin -p MFC7460DN -o pdftops-renderer-default=pdftops Please change 'MFC7460DN' to the name of your printer to the name you gave it in cups.
