Hello Christopher, tonight I updated Ubuntu 13.10 to latest packaged and installed the kernel version you asked me to. Unluckily this (probably the updated, not the kernel itself) broke a lot of things in XFCE, and now I'm writing from Gnome Shell, which is the only working window manager I got. I can't therefore perform many tests until I get a stable system :-P
I was still able to boot with the desired kernel, but it didn't work. I pressed the "suspend" button and the PC just turned off. But it did it immediately, without trying to suspend as it did before. I can't know if this is due to a bug or to a mismatch in power settings. I have a strong feeling this upgrade to 13.10 broke a lot of configurations, so I'm honestly wondering if my "suspension bug" is worth diving into. Did anybody else experience the same issue?
