Yep, the stack trace in comment #3 seems to show
MirConnection::valid_connections is empty. So platform-api and/or Maliit
is passing an invalid MirConnection pointer.
Although the stack trace also shows other globals uninitialized, which
supports Alan's theory of comment #11.
