It appears that everything else but the (monitor going to black > when on) is working fine. Honestly, this does not sound like a software problem, but a hardware problem with your monitor. When you turn your monitor on, do you also press a key on the keyboard, or move the mouse, to unblank the screen? (Nearly all modern monitors will support DPMS to put the monitor in power-saving mode when idle, so the screen will be black until woken up by some activity from the computer.) If pressing a key is not enough to wake up the monitor reliably, then you may have a bad monitor or monitor cable, or a bad video card. If it's a software problem at all, it will most likely be a problem with the driver for your video card. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239145 Title: plymouth in Ubuntu, flashes log in than screen goes black To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1239145/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
