Hi Steve, The monitor is modern enough to be LCD but it could still have a problem. I have 2 others I can try. Before that I would like to rule out the video card driver. I think I remember downloading a proprietary card from update manager. Can you tell me how to look that up? I am still getting use to finding what I need in Ubuntu. Any suggestions on the order that I should use to rule out the source of the problem. As of yet, I haven't discovered any problems once the monitor is showing. When the monitor runs properly, if it's turned on and I boot up, I get graphics,. I run a screen saver for idling. If you have the time. please suggest at what angle I should attack the problem?
I hope I'm making sense,Thanks, Steve! ~ Maria > Date: Sun, 13 Oct 2013 19:21:16 +0000 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [Bug 1239145] Re: plymouth in Ubuntu, flashes log in than > screen goes black > > Hi Maria, > > On Sun, Oct 13, 2013 at 02:46:33PM -0000, Maria Gillem wrote: > > > I don't know if this info helps with the issue - I left my machine > > running but turned off the monitor.
