Happy it is now resolved for you.

I agree that a far more elegant way of processing preferences with
regard hybrid graphics would be nice. Maybe something that could be
discussed at a future UDS (Ubuntu Developer Summit), as the fact of
integrated graphics and those who add far more powerful devices for
graphics is not going to go away. The ability to use both at the same
time is being worked on, but a way to control what is used primarily and
how others are used maybe a good thing.
