Public bug reported:

Trying to do a fresh install (erasing all previous partitions on disk),
installer fails with the above mentionned message.

First I tried with french localisation and had this message in french,
then a dialog box apologizing for the failure and announcing that a bug-
report would be generated - then nothing, full freeze, had to hard
reboot.

Then I tried with the default localisation, which also fails, but did
let me go through the bug reporting process.

I don't think it matters, but just in case : I was trying to switch to
full-disk encryption so I had checked the 'encrypt full disk' and 'LVM'
options.

Thanks to anybody would could solve this...
