Public bug reported:

I was using the iBus package to use a different language to input in
Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail. But after my upgrade to Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy
Salamander from Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, though I was notified that
the combination for activating the iBus was changed to super+space
(which was again a bad idea, because we were already accustomed to the
ctrl+space combination), that didn't seem to change the input language.

But iBus seemed to work when 'Keyboard input method system' in the
'Language Support' setting was set to iBus. But again, the characters
that were displayed were totally random and not according to the way
they were displayed earlier.

Hope an update for iBus might come up soon
