This is deliberate as these packages are undergoing a phased update and
update-manager has chosen not to install them for you, while apt and
synaptic will. You can learn a bit more about the phasing of stable
release updates at http://www.murraytwins.com/blog/?p=127. Things are
behaving as they are intended though.
