I see this issue reappearing for me in precise. I have 3 remote
calendars (google and zimbra) and restarting indicator-datetime makes
the calendar reappear.
Most interestingly, this exact same setup did not show this issue; I
would say it appeared after the update that solved a similar issue
(blank indicator than needed restarting) in network-manager-applet
