Hey Maik, Thanks for the hint! It did help and firefox is now visible. I didn't have the problem in 13.04. It seems new to 13.10, but I'm not sure if it happens because of old settings coming from KDE in 13.04 or always an issue in 13.10.
If somebody wants to point me to where the settings are saved, I could upload for better debugging.
