This is actually a Flash problem - YouTube uses Flash to play video. The actual
problem is that Flash grabs control of the keyboard, overruling all web browser
shortcuts.
As a workaround, if you click on the page background (anything that's not a
Flash applet) to change the focus back to the browser, you'll be able to use
shortcuts again.
