Actually no longer see this as an issue in 13.10 & 14.04, settings that
are lost there can usually be attributed to compiz & auto sorting
plugins (with the notable exception of the commands plugin which over
time only holds integrated commands , not user set.
The bug it was duped to was prior to this change anyway & has little
chance of being fixed if even still alive so a moot point in any case
