I tested by watching YouTube videos (Firefox + Adobe Flash plug-in), watching clips with Totem, launching
gst-launch-1.0 uridecodebin uri=file://<path to music file> ! pulsesink and gst-launch-1.0 uridecodebin uri=file:///<path to music file> ! alsasink and aplay <path to WAV file> Same result. I take pride in not being an MPlayer user, however, the above tests made with GStreamer and alsa's aplay seem to show that the problem is not in Pulseaudio but in the audio drivers. How do I know whether my hdmi lcd monitor has EDID?
