I fixed this problem by removing (and purging) the fglrx drivers that I had installed from AMD's site. Then I reinstalled the Ubuntu's default fglrx drivers.
But on reboot, I had no login screen because somewhere during the upgrade, the kdm login manager became uninstalled. After reinstalling kdm . . . everything worked. As Brian noted, the xorg-edgers-ppa is a problem. (I think that ppa also replaces the default fglrx drivers) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1242592 Title: Cannot upgrade from kubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 it shows "Error could not calculate the upgrade" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1242592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
