Christopher, I am ready to report this bug upstream. I have read the process described in your link carefully but I still have one uncertainty arising from my general ignorance of these matters; would you please be so kind as to provide some advice?
The instructions provided in your link suggest that I am "to find the maintainer of the driver for the bug from the MAINTAINERS list". I am not sure that this is a driver bug, nor am I sure in which module it occurs. Therefore, I am considering following the advice given on https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/docs/lkml/reporting-bugs.html which states "If you are totally stumped as to whom to send the report, send it to [email protected]. (For more information on the linux-kernel mailing list see http://www.tux.org/lkml/)". Does this seem correct to you? Thanks in advance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1234429 Title: 1002:5975 [Dell Inspiron 1501] vertical coloured lines / herringbone pattern on startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1234429/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
