sorry for the late feedback. I was able to reproduce the issue in a fresh 
pbuilder environment.
aptitude --with-recommends install apache2 php5 php5-pgsql libaprutil1-dbd-pgsql
cat >>/etc/apache2/mods-available/dbd.conf
DBDriver pgsql
DBDParams "dbname=XXX user=XXX password=XXX"
DBDMax 3
DBDKeep 1
CTRL+D
a2enmod ssl dbd authn_dbd authz_dbd php5
a2ensite 000-default default-ssl
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart

The I get the core dump.
