, correct me if I'm wrong here, but it seems the commit you documented
wouldn't apply to this report, as it addresses a corner case when
acpiphp is builtin statically, and a user wants the disable acpiphp, but
cannot due to this static build in. The original reporter wouldn't want
to disable acpiphp, as disabling it wouldn't appear to help this issue.

Roland, could you please undo any WORKAROUNDs and test the latest
mainline kernel via http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v3.12-rc7-saucy/ and advise to the results?
