Hi! I've experienced this problem twice with my laptop, both after having opened and closed the lid. I don't if it's related, but the wifi didn't work neither. The first time I shut down the computer using sudo halt, but the second time it got stuck on the black screen with the ubuntu logo. I hope this can help you, and thank you in advance for your help.
