Martin's package didn't fix it for me.

I'd also like to add that it seems Ubuntu's behavior has changed with
regards to "Suspending". In earlier versions, my computer would be put
to sleep after I pressed suspend. Now it just seems to take me to the
log in screen, without turning off my display. Once I log back in, my
display is turned off within 5 seconds. I then press "Enter", and it
resumes normally.
