It seems that if the machine is booted with ethernet plugged in and
wireless active, networking sort of freaks out.  I end up with IP
address for both eth0 (wired) and eth1 (wireless) at the same time.  If
I recall correctly, it would be either one or the other in Feisty, never
both.  When I turned on the RF kill switch (i.e. turned the wireless
system off), eth1 still existed and still had an IP address.  When I
pulled the ethernet plug, it tried to connect via the powered-down
wireless system.  I then disabled wireless in network manager, and
networking now seems to work.
