Christopher - thanks very much for your post. You should be unsurprised
to hear that I updated the BIOS and it made no difference.
I say you *should* be unsurprised, on the assumption you read the rest
of the bug. Because we know for sure (a) it works with a patch (b) that
Canonical used to have and (c) Canonical has since removed.
So your request was fundamentally asking me to jump through a hoop in
the hope you could close a bug, knowing very well it wouldn't actually
fix the (completely known) problem.
But I have jumped through your hoop and it didn't work. Next hoop?
