** Description changed:
Ubuntu 7.04:
I sincerely apologize if this is known or dupe -- I couldn't find any
reference to it, so am posting it as per the suggestion on the page
http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Comprehensive_Sound_Problems_Solutions_Guide.
I have an nForce 680i motherboard (EVGA brand I think) with an Intel Core 2
X6800 processor. I have dual nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX video cards installed (in
PCI-E slots), and a Sound-Blaster X-Fi (in a PCI slot.)
The default Ubuntu install did not install any audio driver. I understand
there is no driver available for the SB X-Fi but my understanding is that there
is a driver available for the motherboard's built-in audio.
I'm going to continue with my guide and see if I can manually get the
motherboard's audio to work, but I thought I would at least report this to you
guys. Again, sorry if this is already known.
