I've just installed the stable kernel release 3.12.0-031200-generic from ubuntu repositories, but the problem persists. I complete my previous message saying that (in 3.11 and 3.12 too) the connection seem to be slow and the signal quality retrieved is low also if the modem-router is near (50 cm) from the usb wifi adapter.
