OK, I got my camera recognized by using a different USB port. (My USB
switcher was having a problem.)
Now gphoto2 says:
$ gphoto2 -P
*** Error ***
An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): No error description
available
*** Error (-110: 'I/O in progress') ***
