Public bug reported: This is so idiotic.
I have, let`s say a .jpg file that i want to open by default with Irfanview. I installed IrfanView, i made all the instruction from here http://atxinventor.com/2012/05/irfanview-default-viewer-for-ubuntu- linux.html But now the ADD command is missing from ubuntu 13.10 So if i want to have default irfanview, it is imposible. Or if a have a exe file that is not registeres in the Other Views, that it is imposible to add it as default. Before, when there was the ADD comand for anything that you wanted, it was kind of pointles because you did not know where to go to pick an aplication, but know is directly imposbile ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: nautilus 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-12.19-generic 3.11.3 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Nov 7 13:02:32 2013 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus GsettingsChanges: b'org.gnome.nautilus.window-state' b'geometry' b"'925x550+513+24'" InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-29 (8 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Release i386 (20131016.1) MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 saucy ** Attachment added: "stupid and idiotic. if the program that i want is not in the list, i cannot do nothing that mannualy opening the program and loading the file that i want" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1248912/+attachment/3902290/+files/Screenshot%20from%202013-11-07%2013%3A06%3A37.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1248912 Title: Right Click Open With does not allow me to set my custom launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1248912/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
