Public bug reported: All involved hardware worked in Ubuntu 11.10. HSP-only headsets (like Motorola H300, H700) do not output sound, often cause pulseaudio to hang, and eventually kick out this log message:

Many apps like mplayer will hang, presumably because pulseaudio's input buffer is full.
