I have to enable the APIC 2.0 Support in the Bios. I must disable the powernowd service in Ubuntu. And I have to install the ATI-Driver Version 8.39.4. I tested various configurations with this settings and the Kernels 2.6.20-16-generic and the 2.6.20-16-386. Only if all settings are as above discribed and Kernel 2.6.20-16-386 is used my machine doesn't freeze anymore. By the way the machine freezes with various programs; there is no certain program.
