The patch I applied to gnome-settings-daemon in the gnome3-next ppa, is
not required on Saucy (gnome-shell 3.8). Whatever is happening on Saucy
is a different bug.
Martin, or anyone else still having issues on Saucy (with no PPA's) can
you please file a new bug using `ubuntu-bug gnome-settings-daemon`
